May Market 2025

The Garden Club of Lebanon (GCoL) is known for making things happen around town. One of those things is providing a source of plants for folks to use in their own gardens, pots, and planters.
It starts out with seeds. Once the seeds make it to a certain level, those plants are then “up-potted” to give them more room to grow and mature. (Yes – all 3,000 plus.)
The plants are then given plenty of water, sunshine, love and care.
All of our plants come from seeds and are placed into a top-shelf soil mixture to give the plants the best environment and to help prevent the spread of an invasive creature known as “the Jumping Worm.”
Whether starting out at a grower or within our members’ homes, we treat the plants as our own.
After “up-potting” the plants are monitored very closely to make sure they are of good health and are ready to go to their new homes.

The Garden Club of Lebanon does not price our plants. We ask that you donate whatever you feel to be fair. All donations to GCoL are used in support of our programs and work around town.
GCoL and the City share maintenance of the Mini-Park located in the 100 block of West St Louis Street. A great place to come, sit, and forget about things for a while.
GCoL has years ago taken on the responsibility of the Mermaid Inn/Hotel gardens and grounds.
GCoL maintains the rose garden where Hwys 4 and 50 meet at the south edge of town.
GCol also works with the trees in College Hill Cemetery, maintaining the “nest” at the foot of each tree and watching for trends the trees may develop that need maintenance over the years.

We are very protective of our plants!
It is the last week before May Market. The weather people have come to an agreement that we can possibly have a few days of storms with some nastiness mixed in. So……
Members of the Garden Club heeded the call and we moved all of the plants into a safe area where they can continue to mature.
It is amazing how fast and how carefully our members can move thousands of plants!
Thanks to all our members and friends for all you do!
Job well done!

The Garden Club of Lebanon is made up of a group of fine people. From novice gardeners (and at least one “non-gardener”) to Several Master Gardeners and Naturalists, we are your neighbors, friends, acquaintenaces, and possibly relatives.
We have one thing in mind – We love to grow things!
Photos on our website come from many sources.
To name just a few – Jonathan Svoboda, Marsha Ernst, Terry Ernst, Al Gerdes – and many more.
